ALPINE
MIDDLE SCHOOL ALPINE
Join the Middle School alpine ski team for a winter of fun! Starting in December, the team kicks off dryland practices to build strength and skills. January until February break, the team heads to Pleasant Mountain every Tuesday and Thursday for training sessions and races. While not a learn-to-ski program, the team includes skiers new to racing and those who have raced for years. Interested in learning more? Sign up to be added to the MS Alpine email list.
HIGH SCHOOL ALPINE
Our experienced coaches nurture talents, foster teamwork, and build confidence, creating a supportive environment for racers of all levels. Dryland and hopefully some on-snow training starts in December. Slalom and giant slalom training and races begin in January with the State Championships scheduled for the week before February break. (Due to Maine weather, ski schedules can always change!)
The team is focused on goal building, reaching its peak for end of season races. With multiple SMAA and State Championships, the team always strives to do its best…while having fun! Complete the online interest form to be added to the HS Alpine email list.
Info meeting! The HS Alpine team will be meeting with Head Coach Evan Keefer on Monday, Nov 6 at 2:30 in the FHS Library. Parents are welcome to attend.
SKI GEAR
Need race gear? Don’t wait! Local ski shops are reporting that stock is low again this year. There are also options for used gear. The Family Skiing in Maine website does a great job of listing local ski swaps and there are Facebook groups such as the CVA Gear Swap/Sale.
